So today i tried to be pro active with my 'plastic bag thing' and we walked to the butchers up the road from here and bought all of the weeks meat there. The point of this was partly so that i could take along my own plastic boxes and not buy a meat that was covered in a load of plastic. Yes they did look at me like i was an idiot and yes i did feel a little silly but i was so proud of myself when i came out!

Well done! Why do people look at you so strangely for not wanting plastic? I bought some veg from a supermarket the other day and popped them in the mushroom paper bags as they were loose items i couldn't stick the price sticker on. When I told the lady there were tomatoes in one of them she said 'you have tomatoes in that bag?' - well yeah! Why oh why was that so shocking for her?
