Today I sensed its coming
Spring is on the way
a feeling of excitement,
That cheers me up today.
The grass seems somehow greener,
The birds seem happier too
They sing of natures wonders,
As life begins anew
The drab grey winter's over,
Snowdrops begin to bloom
the sun though mostly hidden,
Forecasts it from the gloom.
It's been a long hard winter,
With temperatures well below,
But from that cold dark soil
New life begins to grow
Do let's be cheered and happy
For winter grip has passed
The trees will soon be bursting,
Spring will be here at last.
Monica Croucherthis lovely poem came through my letter box today on the local parish news letter. It definatly sums up the day for me.
Emily said today "do you like worms in your sandwiches Mummy?" - she is not a fan of prawns!!
