Things i have made...

Here are a few things i have made recently... the taggie and booties were a present for Leah and Bayy Theo. im still thinking about selling the taggies like i sell my nappy cakes...

Baby Theo

we went to see Baby Theo this afternoon. He is beautiful and very sleepy! He didnt really wake all of the time we were there. Emily loved to hold him, she asked several times and was so delicate and gentle with him. He is doing really well and is lucky to have such a caring family around him. Wishing you a very happy healthy life Theo.xxxx

Great Grandand and the rabbit clock

Today has been mad busy again but this morning we went to see my grandad. He will be 89 this weekend and we went to give him his present and card. Emily made him a beautiful one with a football and a picture of him on it. He was pleased to see us as ever, he love his "beautiful" great grandaughters. Today he looked his age....In the post today a rabbit arrived. Not a real one of course! this rabbit is going to help Emily to tell when it is time to get up. He closes his eyes and goes to sleep when Emily does and then when he opens his eyes and wakes up, it is ok for Emily to get up. this is the theory... i wonder what the practice will be....

Lucy

Lucy today you are nine months old.
It does not seem a moment ago that you were suddenly there in my arms looking at me for the first time, feeding like it was second nature to you. Where has the time gone? We have seen the seasons change from a boiling hot summer where i worried about you being too hot, to a freezing cold winter and taking you out in the snow! Our journey together has been short but memorable in a different way to Emily. You have helped me to believe in myself. Given me confidence i did not have before and helped me question what i believe to be right. Who cares what other people think, i am following my instincts. All those peaceful nights we spent together while i watched you sleep next to me. I already miss them, feeling the warmth of you next to me as you snuggle in.

I hope you have had fun following your sister about where ever the need or want takes us, I hope you dont feel you have been pulled along where you did not want to be, fighting to be you. The time we have together alone is precious and not to be taken for granted. The real you will emerge as you grow older, finding your feet and standing up for your self. My one wish for you is that i teach you always to have the strength to be you and the confidence to achieve anything your heart desires. So Lucy as the years tick by remember your mummy has had such an amazing year at home with you and your sister and that i have always tried to do what i thought was best.

This poem always makes me smile and wish that my bubble could stay complete like this forever.

I hope my child looks back on today
and remembers a Mum who had time to play

There will be years for cleaning and cooking

But children grow up when we are not looking

Cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow

Cos babies grow fast, we learn to our sorrow

So settle down cobwebs, dust go to sleep

I'm cuddling my baby, and babies don't keep

Sensory experience!

Today we had a fabulous opportunity to go to a sensory centre for disabled children. It was all booked though a friend from work and was open to all staff and their children. Emily absolutley loved it, throwing herself around the soft play room while lucy loved the sensory room with all of the lights and the bubble tower! There was even a swinging seat!

Tonight i am meeting up again with some of them at Julias house in Herne Bay. It will be really nice to catch up with them all.

environmental centre

Today we went with my good friend Claire and her children Finn and Reuben to Canterbury environmental centre. Although the weather was slightly dodgy, we had a great time. It is such a lovely and well thought out place to visit for all types of people and interest. It is set in the grounds of the National grid! and around a large pond/ disused quarry and is basically a nature reserve but now extended as an educational centre. We followed a hedgehog trail, finding clues in mailboxes to help us find twigs, and leaves to make different parts of the hedgehog when we returned to the visitors centre.

We then had a picnic - indoors as it was raining. well having a picnic in February is expecting a little too much! After a nice cup of tea, we did some pond dipping, looking for fish. didnt find any of them but we did catch some wiggly things!! The funniest part for me was having to break the ice on the pond to get the net in!!!!
we had a lovely day if somewhat wet but great to get out in the fresh air and do something with nature. it is a brill place to visit, we have been a few times now and nice to see it through all of the seasons. Summer will be lovely here and worth another visit.

Pancake Day

so today is pancake day and we had said food for breakfast and tea.

fruit toppings for breakfast. Im not really sure if Emily likes them but she was excited by all the stiring and the fact it was something different for breakfast. We only ever seem to have pancakes on this day!! Daddy enjoyed them for his tea although he likes them with lemon on. i prefer mime with lots of sugar and golden syrup. good job we only have them once a year!!

i also made Emily a felt bean bag pancake to flip in her toy frying pan!!!
Emily loves her sister, can you tell!
we then spent the rest of the day in Folkestone meeting up with my friends from university and their children. first in the ball park and then on to Julias house to try out their new indoor swimming pool!! this was eventful in its own way as there was still a lot of snow in the ground there from wednesday and i fell over in it.... while carrying Lucy! not funny and i was really worried i had really hurt her as i fell on her. she was fine thankfully, it all happened so quick but i think i took most of the brunt. basically we had to step out of the house in our costumes to get in to the pool building and i slipped on the snow. i grazed my arms and legs and my chest is sore. but Lucy is fine and that is the main thing. They had great fun in the pool. It was really warm.

And the day ended with Lucy realising that if you make a noise while holding a bowl to your face, it makes a different noise!!!

toast and tea

Today has been a "home"sort of day. No need to rush to get out of the door. Emily has not stopped eating all morning, well day really. she is definatly making up for the weight she lost while she had a sickness bug last week.

art was the order for the afternoon while we waited for daddy to return from work. Lucy is wondering what is going on. Big sisters are so interesting!

And trying to crawl is so tricky!
There was cuttingand helping Mummy make pancake mixture for the morning.

our first ever blog!!!

Well this is our first ever blog. i am really nervous about how to do this and wher i want to go with the whole experience! I guess i just wanted to find a way of recording all of the really special moments i have everyday with my wonderful family. To really savor the time we have and preserve it for the future. I hope that this will be worth reading and that i am true to myself and the life we lead.
